More Stupidity

A faction in the Arkansas legislature has stopped a resolution congratulating President Obama on his election. They say it has to do with language in the bill that portrays all the founding fathers as slave owners. Convenient for them. Being racist whila appearing not to be. A good republican strategy.

And in DC the republicans are voting to return to Bushonomics. How bad does it have to get before they figure out that those policies have not worked? Tax cuts got us here. Why should we do more?

The best way to improve the econmy is to make jobs. People with jobs buy things. Tax cuts are just going to be salted away by most and spent on food by some. A working population spends a lot more than $500 per wage earner. A working population buy cars, houses, and other goods. Giving a guy a tax cut isnt going to allow him to go out and buy a car. But a living wage would. How stupid are those republicans?

London Memories

While reading another blog about a trip to London I flashed back on our last trip there. It was a surprise (of sorts) for my 60th birthday. What a great gift it was! The flight over proved slightly problematic but that's a long long story.



Anyway, London is so big and full of history and museums it takes several trips to see it all. Which I don't think is possible. The photo was taken in the courtyard of Somerset House. Old records (marriage,births etc) were kept there. Many English mysteries have someone going to Somerset House to check marriage records. Do they still? Anyway, part of the complex is the Courtald Gallery. A small neat gallery with a couple of Van Gogh's that you can almost put your nose into. It is mostly impressionists. We enjoyed it immensely.

We also took a train/bus trip to Oxford and went on a guided tour. Great tour. Would love to spend more time there too. Inspector Morse where are you?

A trip up the Thames from Greenwich, where we were staying, on one of the many guided tour river boats was another highlight.

Tower Bridge from the river is another great sight. You even sail past the Golden Hind and other historic sights. No, we did not do the London Eye. Next time.

More Blowhards from the Right

I actually know people who listen to and believe what Rush Blowhard says. Personally I belive he is an unmitigated idiot. Can you believe he actually said "I hope he fails." regarding President Obama? What a bufoon Rush is. Of all the idiotic things to say. Maybe he would be fired if things get real bad. Who could afford his inflated salary? Matches his fat head.

I cannot believe the hipocracy of the Right. The lies they tell and the distortions of facts to fit their idiotic agenda.

Somebody said to me once, "Why get upset over it?" Because, they are out to make this country a third world country. Ronal Reagan and his "economic theories" have gotten us to where we are. He was once a staunch union head. A left wing democrat but was lured to the dark side by looney right wingers with grand sounding theories that have been debunked many times in history.

Enough venting for now.

It snowed again here last night. Just a dusting but it is going to be cold tonight again. In the mid 20's. I'm ready for spring!! Last week we spent it in the fog. We lived in Fog Holler for a bit. Go up the road a bit and you could be in sunshine. At our house it was fog, fog and more fog. Yesterday was beautiful though. Clear (mostly) and sunny. Today? Cloudy with tiny flakes of snow falling intermittantly. Should I put the studs back on the Mini for Meg?

Right wing blowhards

David Vitter R-dumbass .. the prostitute user .. is upset about Hillary becoming Sec of State. Rush Limbuagh has started lying already. Ann Coulter whom many suspect of being a man, is lying still.

Don't you just wish for once the republicans would act like human beings? I suppose that is too much to ask. Lincoln must be rolling over. I'll bet he was pleased as punch with President Obama's use of his bible.

Chief Justice Roberts had the good sense to to do a re-do of the oath of office before the right wing blowhards started in on it not being a "proper" swearing in. What a bunch of maroons.

Whooeee!! What a speech! President Obama came through with a call to the world. Did he stumble? No. Did he need notes? No. The Chief Justice should have had notes though.

A history making day with a history making speech. Did you all get that there is a new sheriff in town? But he ain't no draw first, ask questions never kind though. There will be law and no law breaking in his administration. I think GW was a bit nonplussed though. Gee, some of those remarks were directed at him.

We need to all get behind President Obama and let our representatives and senators know that we know how to vote and organize.

President Obama. Glory be! I never have to write President Bush except in the Ex-President mode. It is time to turn back the nonsense that was born under #40. Another idiot. Government was never the problem. Government is the only reason we are not brittish or german right now. But government must recognise the rights of all its citizens, not just the wealthy and the connected.
